• Black Refuse "heavy duty" bags:  folds up small and is handy for water proofing equipment and can double as a rain coat.
• Thermo rest camping mattress:  self inflating light weight durable mattress. Tried and tested. Available at any camping store.
• Duck tape and cable ties.
• 12V male and female connectors:  mount the female socket to the bike and male to any accessory needing 12V power i.e. florescent light, electric pump, camera/cell phone chargers etc. Available at AutoZone or Caravan/4 x 4 shops.
• Water bottle
• First aid kit: don't forget the burn and anti histamine cream
• Double action hand pump/compressed air cylinders. Available at bicycle shops.
• Puncture kit and tire levers: don't spoil the trip for the rest of the group by being ill prepared.
• Fisherman Stool: makes sitting around the campfire so much more comfortable.
• Compact Fishing rod: ever stopped next to a nice river with no rod?
• Leather man/Multitool
• Small Torch: Outdoor shops have a new headband accessory to hold a maglight keeping your hands free.
• Photocopying map pages (for your mates) of the intended route.
• National Geographic African Adventure Atlas: this is a must have for all Adventure bikers. The easiest is to photo copy/scan pages and take them along (The book is quite big).  The detail on the maps is amazing.  Can be purchased at CNA for R270-00.
